A clear reference starts with a clear face

Pet Photo Guide

Choose and prepare one pet photo for your selected scene before you spend credits.

Use this photo

What to look for in your pet photo

Pick a photo of one pet with an in-focus face, visible eyes and an outline that is easy to distinguish from the background. You do not need the selected setting, a waving paw or a costume in the original photo. The generator builds the scene around the uploaded reference. These checks help you choose a readable image; they cannot guarantee an exact likeness or gesture.

Start by looking at the eyes and nose. If you cannot make them out easily in the photo, choose a sharper image. Keep the head, ears and a little of the upper body in the frame. A front or gentle three-quarter view makes it easier to see the pet's defining features than a face turned completely away.

Use one animal as the clear subject. With two pets, crop to one before uploading rather than expecting the tool to choose. Avoid collars, toys, hands or furniture covering the face. A simple crop is enough; there is no need to remove the background or create a transparent cutout.

Light and focus

Choose an image with visible detail in dark fur and without strong glare across light fur. Skip motion blur and heavy beauty or cartoon filters. Inspect the original file rather than a tiny thumbnail.

Fur, ears and crop

For long-haired pets, check that fur has not hidden the eyes. Leave room around tall ears and whiskers instead of cropping tightly to the nose. The photo need not show a driving pose or an outstretched paw.

Prepare your upload in three checks

  1. 1

    Select one clear pet

Compare a few photos at a similar size. Choose the one with a clear face and an unobstructed outline, not simply the funniest expression. Crop out additional animals or people when necessary.

  2. 2

    Check the image file

Use JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, no larger than 4 MB. The image must be at least 300 by 300 pixels and no larger than 40 megapixels. Do not enlarge a tiny thumbnail and expect it to gain facial detail.

  3. 3

    Return to the generator

Choose Pond Pickup, Couch Spot, Front Porch or Golf Cart and upload your pet photo. Select Standard or Pro, 480p or 720p, and 8 or 15 seconds, then review the credit cost. You do not need a voice recording. Confirm that you have permission to use the photo before submitting.

Generate Video

The photo is a reference, not a motion recording

The selected setting, speech and gestures are newly generated. Your pet does not need to perform them in the source photo, and you do not need to stage a pickup, couch, porch or golf-cart pose. AI may change markings, proportions or facial details. A different photo can provide a different reference, but another generation is a new paid request, not a guaranteed correction.

FAQ

Pet photo questions

Videos are generated with the Seedance video model.

Does the photo need to show my pet in the selected setting?

No. Use an ordinary portrait. The pickup, couch, porch or golf cart and the character's movement are created in the new AI scene; the setting does not need to appear in your source photo.

Can I upload a photo with two pets?

Choose one pet and crop the photo before uploading. The scene is designed around one subject, so do not expect a group photo to produce separate roles for each animal.

Should I remove the background first?

No background removal is required. Focus on a clear face and a distinct outline. Avoid a busy object directly across the pet's head or body.

What file types and sizes are accepted?

JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF are supported, up to 4 MB. Images must be at least 300 by 300 pixels and no larger than 40 megapixels. Use the original image when possible rather than a small screenshot.

Will it keep every marking and detail?

No exact-match guarantee is offered. AI uses the photo as a reference and may change fur patterns, proportions, expressions or the gesture. A clear image helps identify the subject but does not guarantee a particular result.

Does following this guide include a free test?

No. The guide is free to read, but video generation requires purchased credits. A clip costs For 8 / 15 seconds respectively, Standard costs 10 / 20 credits at 480p and 20 / 40 at 720p; Pro costs 20 / 40 credits at 480p and 40 / 80 at 720p. There is no free trial or sign-up credit.
